1. The service
IDPhotoTool (idphototool.com) is an online tool that helps you prepare passport, visa and ID photos: it checks source quality, crops the image to the stored dimensions, and replaces the background only when the resolved document profile permits it. Cropping, sizing and quality checks run in your browser. For profiles that permit background processing, choosing a file starts background removal using a randomly named temporary copy sent through the configured Cloudflare processing path and deleted after the request; a local fallback may be used when cloud processing is unavailable.
2. Free and paid tiers
Every feature can be used free of charge, and a watermarked preview can be downloaded at no cost. A one-time payment ($3.99per session) unlocks the high-resolution download without watermark plus a printable 4×6" sheet. Payments are processed by our merchant of record, which handles billing, receipts and applicable sales taxes. When checkout begins, the finished files are stored privately for up to 24 hours so a completed purchase can be delivered immediately and recovered after a refresh. Access requires a server-verified entitlement and an expiring signed link.
3. No guarantee of acceptance
We crop photos to the dimensions in the selected database record and display head-position guides based on that record. Direct issuing-authority sources are shown where recorded, but you must confirm the current requirement with the issuing authority. Acceptance decisions are made solely by that authority, and posing rules (expression, lighting, glasses, head coverings) remain your responsibility. If your paid photo is rejected for a size or formatting reason attributable to our output, you are covered by our refund policy.
4. Acceptable use
You may only process photos of yourself or of people who have given you permission (for example, your children). You must not use the service to create fraudulent identity documents or to impersonate others.
5. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to your photos. We claim no ownership over anything you process with the tool. The requirements database is published under CC BY 4.0; the site's code, design and content remain our property.
6. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it.
